Over five months in 2017 we coached over 40 staff from the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences (MAAS) in human-centred design methods using a ‘design sprint’ process. The goal of each sprint was to generate and test ideas to improve the visitor experience in the museum.
Through this project MAAS was able to create an enhanced visitor and staff experience; build greater empathy among staff; show the value of early testing and iteration in a museum space; and showcase how museums can use human-centred design to unlock more creative and collaborative ways of working.
